We are looking for an experienced security architect with strong consulting skills who knows the Microsoft security stack both well and broadly. You want to do implementations yourself, not just supervise while someone else does them.
Finns do not oversell, so we will say this plainly: NBS is a "pretty decent" place to do Microsoft security. Our work is client work, meaning architecture, reviews, deployments and hardening of Microsoft environments, including hybrid and multicloud implementations. You get your own accounts and your own projects from start to finish.
What you will do
- Build, review and harden Microsoft environments: Entra ID, Defender XDR, Sentinel, Agent 365, Azure in general, integrations, AI workloads and the like.
- Design architectures and see them through to implementation. The Well-Architected Framework is the baseline, but compliance, governance, other clouds and the M365 and Power Platform angles come along for the ride.
- Deploy and manage Defender capabilities: Defender for Cloud, XDR and Cloud Apps, data source integrations and, where needed, those other SIEM and SOAR solutions too.
- Deliver the security and architecture side of projects across a wide range. Recent years have included, for example, subscription vending with Terraform, Citrix Flex architecture, GitHub Enterprise, Bicep and private endpoints.
- Solve hybrid problems as well. On-premises AD, firewalls, routing and VPNs have not gone anywhere, and they come up regularly on the security side.
- Take the lead with clients, run meetings, remove friction from projects and keep stakeholders in the loop.
What we hope for from you
Strong, broad experience in Microsoft security and enterprise-scale architectures. You do not need deep expertise in everything: we shape the role around your background and interests. The ability to finish things. You are not in love with perfection, but you aim for premium+ quality. A plan is only good once the implementation is in production. A willingness to take the lead with clients. You run meetings and remove friction from projects instead of waiting for orders at the morning briefing.
An independent approach and good judgement. The work involves plenty of heads-down effort, but also close collaboration with both your own team and the client’s specialists. A desire to learn and to share what you know. None of us is finished, and we are happy to learn from you too. Fluent Finnish and English. We already gave up on Swedish.
What we offer
Your pay is based on experience, bonuses are paid for successful projects, and you get your full holiday entitlement from day one. Surely nobody wants their holidays reset any more? Working hours are as you see fit, though clients do appreciate it if you are reachable roughly between 9 and 16. Work gets done wherever it goes best: remote, hybrid or the office, anywhere between 0 and 100 % to suit your life. There is no on-call, and no evening or weekend work (unless your own flow state happens to land in the evening).
You get all the sensible tools: a premium laptop (60 % of us pick a MacBook, but Windows is just as fine), a NUC for lab work, a good phone and 5G, a large monitor or two, a headset, and a quality chair and desk for both home and the office. On top of that come comprehensive occupational health care and other benefits, including lunch, exercise and culture, commuting and massage benefits, as well as free Microsoft certifications and training. You also get a direct say in the company’s results, its development and the direction it grows in.
